Odontopodisma rubripes - Red-legged Mountain Grasshopper
(Ramme, 1931)

Description: Medium-sized species (♂ 15-18 mm, ♀ 19-24 mm). Ground colour is green, with a black stripe running along the side of the body. Wings are reduced to a small reddish scale, part of hind tibiae also red.
Similar species: The other Odontopodisma species. Identification is difficult.
Adults: from June to September
Song:
Males have no calling song.

abitat:  Humid grasslands and tall herbs.
Distribution:
Scarce, only known from the NE part of the country: Szatmár-Bereg (Vásárosnamény, Lónya, Csaroda, Záhony, Gulács, Beregdaróc, Gelénes, Tarpa, Tiszakerecseny, Barabás, Hetefejércse, Fülesd, Csengersima, Botpalád, Kispalád, etc.) and Nyírség. It can be abundant locally.
