Barbitistes constrictus - Eastern Saw Bush-cricket Brunner von Wattenwyl, 1878
Description: Ground colour bluish green. Head is at least as wide as the pronotum long. Yellow stripe behind the eyes, antennae are dark. (♂18-23 mm,♀ 23-25 mm). Wings are very short, especially by the females. ♂ pronotum dark, cerci cross each other, long and not evenly getting thinner towards the tip. Subgenital plate is rounded at the end. The ovipositor (9-11 mm) is straight on the bottom side, only tip pointing upwards. Similar species:Barbitistes serricauda and Isophya species Adults: from July to October Song: Faint and short eschemes, only hearable with a bat detector (25 kHz). Sings mostly in the evening.

Habitat: Forests, bushes, forest edges. Lives up in the trees ,bushes.. Distribution: Isolated populations in the North Hungarian Mts. Scarce.
