Description: Large species (♂ 35-45 mm, ♀ 40-50 mm), body is covered with fine hairs. Fore legs are modified for digging. Antennae as long as the pronotum, ovipositor is hidden.

Adults: Throughout thewhole year, but most abundant between april and october.
Song: Males singing in warm nights at spring from an underground chamber. Very loud song.
