Isophya modestior - More-modest Plump Bush-cricket
Brunner v. Wattenwyl, 1882

Description: Green body (18-24 mm) with a light stripe running from the eyes along the side of the pronotum. The ovipositor is 9.5-11.5 mm long, curving upwards, with small dark spines at the end. The male's wings are about as long as the pronotum and wider than the posterior margin of the pronotum when viewed from above. There is a long, brown patch on the wings.
Similar species: the other Isophya species
Adults: from June to begin August
Song:
The singular syllables follow each other with long pauses.

Habitat: 
Forest clearings and edges with lush vegetation.
Distribution:
A Balkan species, very local and rare in Hungary (e.g. Mecsek [Orfű, Abaliget, Kovácsszénája], Villányi-hg., Kőszegi-hg, Vértes).
Note: Protected species in Hungary.
