Aiolopus thalassinus - Slender Green-winged Grasshopper
(Fabricius, 1781)

Description: Medium-sized but rather slender species (♂ 15-19 mm, ♀ 21-29 mm). Ground colour green (sometimes brown), with the wings extending well beyond the abdomen. Dark bands on forewing, hind wing base with yellowish-green colouration. Hind femur 4-4.5x as long as wide, upper 1/3 of hind tibiae white with black rings.
Similar species: Aiolopus strepens
Adults: from June to September
Song:
Males have no calling song.

abitat:  Dry grasslands, steppe, river banks. A good flier.
Distribution:
It is a widespread species, especially in lowlands where it can be abundant.
