Leptophyes albovittata - Lesser Speckled Bush-cricket
(Kollar, 1833)

Description: Slender body, ground colour green (♂ 9-14 mm, ♀ 12-16 mm). Antennae 3 to 4 times as long as the body. Bottom margin of side flap pronotum with a light edge. Visible part of fore wings not longer than half the length of pronotum. Ovipositor (5-6 mm) is sickle-like with fine teeth, robust at the base. Male cerci reddish and more or less straight.
Similar species: Leptophyes boscii
Adults: from July to September
Song:
Faint sounds with 6 to 10 s. intervals, unhearable for the human ear. It resembles to the song of Ph. falcata , but its frequency is higher (peak at 50 kHz). Sings from the afternoon till the night.
Habitat:  Forest edges, bushes, meadows. Lives on higher weeds.
Distribution:
Widespread and quite common.
